Do people get out of purgatory sooner if masses are said for them?
How come poor people go to Purgatory with no one paying Masses on their behalf, whereas rich people are permitted to go to Heaven sooner thanks to numerous Masses offered for the repose of their souls?
I do not agree with the above statement at all. God is just. The whole Bible proclaims He pities the poor and loves them even more because of their poverty.
We are invited to help our deceased brothers and sisters through prayer, especially through the celebration of Masses. Let us do it in faith, in the family spirit of the communion of Saints. Of course, we are inclined to do it mostly on behalf of our own relatives and friends. But, let God relieve the souls where and how He wills. May we trust in His goodness and justice!
