MARY, THE SAINTS, THE ANGELS, THE DEMONS
What should our devotion to Mary be based on?
![]()
Vatican II, Paul VI, John Paul II have all hammered away at the fact that devotion to Mary must be based on Sacred Scripture and the living Tradition of the Church.
As for visions or apparitions, they may, if authenticated by the Church, fortify the love for Mary and shed some light on certain Gospel truths.
Let us love Mary from the bottom of our hearts. Her role is providential. She is the safest and easiest way toward Jesus.
She is the Mother of God, the Immaculate Virgin glorified in her assumption. She is God's masterpiece. As the new Eve, she declared herself servant of God and she became the living model of all virtues. Truly, she is our mother and the mother of the Church. According to her own prophecy, all generations call her blessed (Lk 1: 48).
