THE SACRAMENTS

Why do some people criticize their parents for having had them baptized?

The same individuals could, I suppose, reproach their parents for having given them natural life without consulting them.

Through baptism, Christian parents transmit supernatural life, divine life, a life which never ceases to grow and even remains after death. They guide their children in the faith they themselves live by. Out of love, they pass on values, great values to their children.

These parents do know that one day their child will have to make a deliberate choice with respect to Christ. But, they will have already given that child a foretaste of Jesus' life in the Church and of the Christian values. They have given what is best. Who could blame them for that?
