Is baptism of water or of the Spirit?
I was often told: "Through baptism, you are baptized in the water, but you must also be baptized in the Spirit." What does that mean?

There is only one Christian baptism which is both a baptism of water and a baptism of Spirit. It is the baptism Christ commands us to receive in order to be saved. "No one can enter into God's kingdom without being begotten of water and Spirit " (Jn 3: 5).
It is the very baptism that the priest administers on the occasion of a child's birth or the conversion of an adult. In this way, the baptized person is born again and for him or her, within the Church, a new life begins, which leads to eternity. He or she must see to it that their life is not destroyed by sin and, if it is, they must reconcile with the Lord.
